EXHIBITIONS
Only two impressions are known and so it was rarely exhibited. One impression was shown by H. Wunderlich & Co. in New York in 1898 and Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) lent one to the exhibition organised by the Caxton Club in Chicago in 1900 (). 8
It was also exhibited in Memorial Exhibitions after Whistler's death, at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904, and the London Memorial Exhibition in 1905. 9

SALES & COLLECTORS
Whistler sold an impression of 'Booth, (Market)' to H. Wunderlich & Co. of New York in 1897 for £7.7.0. 10 It was probably the impression exhibited at Wunderlich's in 1898 and possibly the 'Booth (Market)' recorded as sold by them for £10.10.0 by March 1899. 11
Only two impressions are known, one being owned by Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) () and the other by Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) () who lent it to the Caxton Club in 1900.
Mansfield's impression was later acquired by Harris G. Whittemore (d. ca 1937). For once, Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) did not have an impression, and so when this was sold recently by a descendant of Whittemore, it was bought for the Freer Gallery of Art, in 2002.
