DESCRIPTION

A hand barrow with boxes of fruit is in the left foreground. Behind it is girl, sitting in front of a dark window or low doorway, and a small child, standing on the barrow or on a chair behind the barrow. To right, between the handles of the barrow, is a girl sitting on a wooden chair, and to right of her, a seated girl with a child on her lap. At far right is a street corner, and a standing figure.

SITE

Probably in the city of Brussels, capital of Belgium. The subject is very similar to that of another Brussels etching, The Barrow - Quartier des Marolles, Brussels [346].
