Impressions were also available for sale at H. Wunderlich & Co., in New York, in 1898 - when one was bought by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) () - and in 1903. 16
Finally, it was shown at the Memorial Exhibitions after Whistler's death, including being exhibited at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904 and another being lent from the Royal Collection to the London show of 1905. 17

Second states went to a number of public collection: from Percy Thomas (1846-1922) to the Victoria and Albert Museum (); from Samuel Putnam Avery (1822-1904) to New York Public Library (); from Gardiner Greene Hubbard (1822-1897) to the Library of Congress (); Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) to the Art Institute of Chicago (), and so on.
