SALES & COLLECTORS
Thomas Way (1837-1915) - printer of Whistler's lithographs - acquired the plate, which was printed by Francis Short (1857-1945); they each gave or sold impressions to other printers or collectors. Short gave an impression to Frederick Goulding (1842-1909) (). In 1905 Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) bought an impression from Thomas Way (1837-1915) () and the British Museum acquired an impression ().
