TECHNIQUE
The copper plate for Sketches including a head and a hat shows the early stages of an etching -- the plate was covered with an etching ground, and the head and other details were drawn through the ground with an etching needle. The plate was not bitten, so this is an intended etching, not a completed one.

No impressions were taken as the plate was not fully executed.
