Beatrice Whistler painting from a window, Bourges dates from the Whistlers' honeymoon in the Loire valley in the autumn of 1888. They visited Bourges from 23 September 1888.
The size of the copper plate, which is the same as A French Street [405], The Fan [375], The Hangman's House, Tours [393], Place Daumont, Tours [390], Château de Bridoré [409] and Château Touraine [410], as well as the technique, confirms the date.
