State 1

Signed with a butterfly at centre right.
A sketch of a head appears upside down at lower right.

State 2

Not reproduced.
The shading to the of the figure, from the top of her hat to about her waist, is extended with diagonal drypoint lines; additional shading and cross-hatching is added to right of her face as well as vertical shading in the background at right.
The new shading is visible on the copper plate, but no impression with these additional drypoint lines has been located. This state is known only from work on the cancelled copper plate, and a digital image based on the plate is reproduced below.
