STATE

Two states are known before cancellation.

State 1

Etching: K2750109
Signed with a butterfly at upper left, near the top edge.
The composition is complete. The skirt of the woman in the central doorway is without shading, and there are only short parallel etched lines in the background below her right arm.

State 2

Etching: K2750203
Short diagonal drypoint lines shade the right side of the skirt of the woman in the central doorway; short slanting lines cross the existing lines and extend the shadows below her right arm; light drypoint lines augment the shading in both the central doorways.

State 2 (cancelled)

Etching: PS_K275_01
Cancelled with a diagonal line.

No impression from the cancelled plate is known.
