There is no signature or inscription.
According to Mansfield, 'The butterfly, in outline, is suggested in the central lower pane of the window.' 8 However, if so, it is well camouflaged in a pile of fruit.

8: Mansfield 1909[more] (cat. no. 261).

State 2

Etching: K2650202
Short, fine drypoint lines are added on the lower part of the window-pane at left along with more shading around the woman in the centre.

State 3

Etching: K2650203
Considerable new etched shading is added around the woman in the centre; the heads of the figures to left and right of that woman are redefined.

State 4

Not reproduced.
The woman at the centre and the shadowed area around her have been removed.
