There is no signature or inscription; the outline of a butterfly, at centre right on the impression illustrated, was added in black crayon.
The only known proof, illustrated here (), is heavily touched with black crayon, including the shading around the woman's left arm and hand and the post or end of the ledge at right. There is also white gouache on the hat, the outline of the woman's face and lips, the ruffle at her neck, over the shading on her bodice, on both her hands and on the front edge of her coat.
