State 1

The composition is complete. The big tree at right has an irregular patch of diagonal shading just above the centre of the plate.

State 2

Etching: K0350105
There is additional work on the trees in the foreground, particularly the lighter patches on the two big trees, which have new vertical shading and cross-hatching.

State 3

Etching: K0350209
There is additional work all over the plate, particularly on the trees and bushes, and on the shadows on the grass; clouds are added in the sky; two thin wavering lines cross the plate from upper left to right.
