The copper plate was a different size from other plates; it was a little larger than Amsterdam, from the Tolhuis 099 and Draped Model 109, which date from 1863 and the early 1870s respectively. It was cancelled with numerous zig-zag lines. and was probably among those cancelled at the time of Whistler's bankruptcy.
The cancelled plate was probably among those sold at Whistler's bankruptcy, and possibly intended for publication in a set of Cancelled Etchings by the Fine Art Society in 1879. Most of the published sets contain 57 etchings, except for the set now in the Yale University Art Gallery, which contains several additional prints (Seated woman facing left 134, Woman seated in an armchair facing right 090, Nude woman reclining 092, A standing figure, possibly on stage 160, and Lady standing 149).
The copper plate has not been located.
