House-roofs is an unfinished sketch and probably dates from about 1874. It is very close in size to two copper plates of that date,
Tatting 130 and
The Muff 131. Stylistically (from the little that can be seen) it can be compared to Speke Hall 140 and The Two Ships 143.
It may have been intended for publication in a set of Cancelled Etchings by the Fine Art Society in 1879, but not included in the album as published.
