Man Fishing probably dates from 1888 or 1889.
The plate size and maker's stamp resemble plates used in Whistler's etchings of the Loire valley in the late summer of 1888, including Court of the Monastery of St. Augustine, Bourges 403, and of Holland, late in 1889, such as Zaandam 458.
