Confections pour Dames probably dates from 1893 or 1894, but could date from later. The little butterfly signature is consistent with a date in the early to mid-1890s, but could be later.
The copper plate is one of ten produced by C. Servant in Paris, most of which date from late 1893 or 1894 (see for instance Under the Statue, Luxembourg Gardens 464), but two of which date from 1901 (see Flaming Forge 490).
The sketch is unfinished and it is difficult to date the copper plate from the style or technique.
