The copper plate of Café Luxembourg has not been located. It was close in size to figure studies of 1887/1888 (i.e. Resting by the Stove [372]), views done in London (J.H. Woods' Fruit Shop, Chelsea [327], Bird Shop - Seven Dials [384]), and on Whistler's honeymoon in 1888 (i.e. Château de Bridoré [409], Place Daumont, Tours [390], The Hangman's House, Tours [393]), and elsewhere on the continent between 1887 and 1889 (i.e. Petite Rue au Beurre, Brussels [341]).
