TECHNIQUE

The composition was begun tentatively in etching, with repeated outlines and broken undulating lines. Some light drypoint shading was added to make the figure stand out from the background.

PRINTING

Two impressions of Nude Model Stooping are recorded but only one has been located. It is in black ink on cream laid paper with very light plate tone (Graphic with a link to impression #K3420202). Both were trimmed to the platemark and signed on the tab with Whistler's butterfly and 'imp.' to show he printed them.
