EXHIBITIONS

Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) lent his impression to the exhibition organised by the Caxton Club in Chicago in 1900 (Graphic with a link to impression #K2530102) and probably to the Grolier Club exhibition in 1904 too (since no one else owned an impression there really was not much choice). 7

7: Chicago 1900 (cat. no. 252); New York 1904a (cat. no. 339).

SALES & COLLECTORS

The sole record of a sale was on 6 April 1891 when Whistler sold an impression to H. Wunderlich & Co., New York. This was bought in May by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919), who bequeathed it to the Freer Gallery of Art, in 1919. 8
