Chelsea Wharf was dated '1863' by Whistler on the copper plate.
The plate was reworked about 1873, and signed at that time with Whistler's butterfly. The date '1873' was written by Whistler on one impression (Graphic with a link to impression #K0890201).
Other etchings dated 1863 include Amsterdam, from the Tolhuis [99], Weary [93], Brushing the Hair [94] and Battersea Reach [96].
