DESCRIPTION
A nude young woman with wavy shoulder length hair, reclining on a sofa; her head, tilted well back on the pillow, is on the left. The figure is drawn over another faint figure, seen upside down on the plate.
SITTER
Not identified. It is just possible that the model for the earlier study was Joanna Hiffernan (b. ca 1843).
