The Fur Cloak - Mrs Herbert probably dates from late 1887.

It was first listed as 'Mrs Herbert' during stock-taking by Whistler and his wife at some time between late 1887 and 1888. 1 Furthermore the first sale of this drypoint, which was also called 'The Fur Cloak', was in November 1887. 2
