EXHIBITIONS
It was not exhibited in Whistler's lifetime as far as is known. After his death, impressions were shown at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904, and in the Memorial Exhibitions in London and Paris in 1905. 8
8: New York 1904a (cat. no. 343); London Mem. 1905 (cat. no. 314); Paris Mem. 1905 (cat. no. 423).
SALES & COLLECTORS
Both Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) () and Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) () owned impressions, and one was kept by Whistler and passed to the University of Glasgow by his sister-in-law Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) (). Similarities in title make it hard to distinguish between the sales of this and other Luxembourg subjects.
