Renaissance Window was never published. However, it is closely related to Whistler's unpublished 'Renaissance Set' and indeed may have provided the title for that set.

It was first shown by H. Wunderlich & Co., New York, in 1898. 9 Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916) lent an impression to the exhibition organised by the Caxton Club, Chicago, in 1900 (Graphic with a link to impression #K3900203). 10

It was also exhibited in the Memorial Exhibitions after Whistler's death. Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) lent one - probably the first state, which has not been located (Graphic with a link to impression #K3900101) - to the Whistler Memorial Exhibition organised by the Copley Society in Boston in 1904 . 11 Two impressions were shown at the comprehensive Grolier Club exhibition in New York in 1904 and one in the Whistler Memorial show in London in 1905. 12

Whistler sold an impression on 23 July 1891 to Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) for £4.4.0. 13 Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) bought an impression from Mansfield on 17 July 1894 (Graphic with a link to impression #K3900202).

Another was sold by Whistler through H. Wunderlich & Co., New York in 1899, mis-titled 'Rennaissance window Chienonceau', for £8.8.0. 14 This may have been the impression acquired by Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916), who certainly owned one by 1900 (Graphic with a link to impression #K3900203). His impression went to the Art Institute of Chicago, while Freer bequeathed his to the Freer Gallery of Art.
