SALES & COLLECTORS
Whistler sold an impression in February 1888 to the London print dealer, Thomas M. McLean (b. ca 1832), for £8.8.0. 11 He sold another on 6 April 1891 to H. Wunderlich & Co. of New York for the same price. 12 This was bought by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) (). Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) also owned an impression in 1891 but it has not been identified. 13
Other collectors included Bryan Lathrop (1844-1916), who almost certainly bought it from Wunderlich's (stock number a 27493) (); John Henry Wrenn (1841-1911) and later, Lessing Julius Rosenwald (1891-1971) (); and Alice C. Holden (m. 1889) ().
