The copper plate used for Lady standing is different in size from any other plate.
It was probably commercially prepared. It was in Whistler's studio at his death and was bequeathed to Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958). In 1931, at her request, the plate was printed by Nathaniel Sparks (1880-1956). 8 Miss Philip gave the plate to the University of Glasgow in 1935. It is not cancelled.
