SALES & COLLECTORS
No sales of Robert Barr are recorded in Whistler's lifetime. Among impressions owned by public collections, one was acquired, probably from Sickert, by Edmond Gosselin (1849-1917) and ended up in the Hunterian Art Gallery (); the British Museum got one in 1908 (); the Kupferstichkabinett Berlin bought one from the Kunstsalon Emil Richter in 1910 (); the Victoria and Albert Museum acquired two, one from James Greig in 1922 () and another from Silvia Gosse (1881-1968) in 1948 (); and Lessing Julius Rosenwald (1891-1971) gave one to the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, 1943 ().
