PRINTING
It is rare. One impression of Greengrocer's Shop, Paris is printed in black ink on ivory laid paper with the watermark 'CR' over a crown, is inscribed '2nd proof -' (). Curiously another is also annotated '2nd proof'; it is in black ink on buff laid paper with a Pro Patria watermark (). However, Whistler also printed a very fine, rich impression in black ink on almost transparent Japanese paper () and another on such a light-weight dark cream tissue that it was first laid down on another sheet of tissue and then on card ().
