TECHNIQUE
This is an etching, sketched with the etching needle in quick scrawled curves, broken lines, hooks and dashes, wriggly lines and zigzags, with a few irregular patches of shading. There are traces of other lines around the turkeys and figures that have not been etched (they would have been 'stopped out' before the plate was etched). The outline of the head and shoulders of the woman in the centre has been reworked and is rather confused. The figures and the turkeys are full of character!
