PRINTING
Fve impressions have been located. The '1st proof' and another early impression were printed in black ink on ivory laid paper (, ). Other impressions were in dark brown ink, one on an ivory watermarked laid paper () and one on buff laid paper with a partial watermark, 'PRO PATRIA AS' (). All are trimmed to the platemark and signed on the tab with a butterfly and 'imp.' to show that Whistler printed them.
