PRINTING
There is a detailed but not entirely clear record of printing of the 'Naval Review Set'. Five impressions of Her Majesty’s Fleet: Evening were printed by 19 August and seven on 23 August 1887, a total of twelve; in addition eight are listed on 1 September, but this may be a record of impressions still in stock. 10 By 1889 he only had one in stock. 11
Whistler may have numbered some impressions; one, for instance, bears a '(No. 4)' that may have been by Whistler () - which could be a record of printing or sale.
