After the Sale, Clothes Exchange, Houndsditch dates from 1887. This date is consistent with the butterfly signature.
It is the same size as several other etchings dating from 1887. These included other London subjects (i.e.
Melon Shop, Houndsditch
[355], Nut Shop, St James's Place, Houndsditch
[356]), and
Jubilee plates (i.e. Troopships
[307]).
