PRINTING
Most impressions of Little Maunder's were printed in 1887. By July 1889 Whistler had one impression of 'Little Maunders' in stock. 14
Impressions were mainly printed in dark brown ink on ivory laid paper (, , ), sometimes so thin as to be almost transparent (). One is in brown ink on a medium-weight cream laid sheet () and one in black ink on off-white laid paper, producing a rather cooler effect (). All were printed with very carefully wiped tone, trimmed to the plate mark and signed on the tab with Whistler's butterfly and 'imp.' to show that he printed it.
