TECHNIQUE
It was drawn with both etched and drypoint lines, the drypoint wearing down quickly.
PRINTING
There was only a small print-run. Impressions were printed in dark brown ink on ivory laid paper with a partial watermark (), and in black () and dark brown ink on ivory laid paper (). It was usually printed with light tone, graduated from the top to darker at the bottom, with the sheet trimmed to the platemark and signed on the tab with a butterfly and 'imp.' to show that Whistler printed it.
