Sketch after Cecil Lawson's "Swan and Iris" dates from 1882. It dates from after the death of Cecil Lawson on 10 June 1882 (a portrait of Lawson is reproduced below) and is based on a painting by Lawson. It was published in Edmund William Gosse (1849-1928), Cecil Lawson: A Memoir in 1883; the foreword is dated October 1882.
