Turkeys dates from the summer or autumn of 1880, when Whistler was in Venice, and when he was staying near this site, off the Via Garibaldi.
This was published by Messrs Dowdeswell and Thibaudeau with the Twenty-six Etchings (the 'Second Venice Set') in 1886. It was printed until February 1887 when the copper plate was cancelled.
