TECHNIQUE
It was drawn very lightly with a drypoint needle, with many repeated outlines on the figure and arms.
PRINTING
It was published in an album of Cancelled Plates by The Fine Art Society, London, 1879. There was probably an edition of about 20 or 24. All known impressions are from the cancelled plate, and are printed in black ink. A typical impression is on ivory laid paper watermarked 'Van Gelder' in script (). Some have the Strasbourg Lily watermark () or partial Strasbourg Lily watermarks showing the horned crown () or Strasbourg Lily/VGZ' mark ().
