PRINTING

It was published in an album of Cancelled Plates by The Fine Art Society, London, 1879. There was probably an edition of about 20 or 24. All known impressions are from the cancelled plate, and are printed in black ink. A typical impression is on ivory laid paper watermarked 'Van Gelder' in script (Graphic with a link to impression #K1280211). Some have the Strasbourg Lily watermark (Graphic with a link to impression #K1280206) or partial Strasbourg Lily watermarks showing the horned crown (Graphic with a link to impression #K1280202) or Strasbourg Lily/VGZ' mark (Graphic with a link to impression #K1280204).
