SALES & COLLECTORS
One impression, described as a 'Trial Proof' was at one time with Charles Dowdeswell (1856?-1921), and later, Bernard Buchanan MacGeorge (1845?-1924), Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) and Harris G. Whittemore (d. ca 1937), before being bought by the Library of Congress (). Another impression that may have come direct from Whistler was owned by Mortimer Luddington Menpes (1860-1938), and later sold through Obach & Co., London, to Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) in December 1903 ().
