Draped Model dates from 1873 or 1874. The butterfly signature is consistent with these dates.
Whistler may have written '1870 -' on one impression (Graphic with a link to impression #K1000101). This date may have been added from memory but does seem too early, stylistically, for this print. The number, '80' (again, possibly by Whistler) is on another impression (Graphic with a link to impression #K1000103). This cannot possibly have been the date it was drawn and is unlikely to have been the date it was printed since Whistler was in Venice most of the year.
