TECHNIQUE
A landscape, freely drawn with bold, scrawling lines, in both etching and drypoint, but not finished.
PRINTING
It was published in an album of Cancelled Plates ('Cancelled Set') by The Fine Art Society, London, 1879. All known impressions are from the cancelled plate. They were almost certainly printed in 1879, when they were published by the Fine Art Society, probably in an edition of about twenty. They are usually printed in black ink on ivory laid paper (i.e. , ). Watermarks include Van Gelder (), crown (), and Strasbourg Lily ().
