TECHNIQUE
The composition was mostly etched, augmented with delicate drypoint that faded and had to be replaced as it wore down. Lochnan commented:
PRINTING
Others were printed on a variety of papers: cream 'antique' laid (); off-white laid with a shield watermark (); ivory 'antique' (pre-1800) laid with Strasbourg Lily watermark, taken from a ledger with blue edges (); cream laid with Arms of Amsterdam watermark (); cream 'modern' laid () and ivory card-like wove (). Some are on Asian papers, including ivory Japanese laid (, ) and light-weight cream Japanese ().
