Impressions taken from this plate (125) |
The copper plate is close in size to that for Longshore men
[52]. The copper plate was sold to Philip Gilbert Hamerton (1834-1894). The plate was steel-faced during the period it was printed for an edition of 100 and inclusion in three publications, in 1878, 1880 and 1882. The steel-facing has since been removed. It is cancelled with diagonal lines from corner to corner and a horizontal and vertical line, all meeting in the centre.
The plate was sold by the Albert Rouillier Art Galleries to the Toledo Museum of Art. 10
