SALES & COLLECTORS

One impression was owned by Howard Mansfield (1849-1938), and is now in a private collection (Graphic with a link to impression #K4280101). Another was given by Whistler to an American friend and inscribed 'To the Missie cousin that she may not in Georgia forget her Paris.' The 'Missie cousin' may have been the writer Annulet Andrews (Mrs Kingsley Ohl) (1866-1943) or a young relative of Mrs Ohl who visited Paris in 1900. 9 The print was later bequeathed by Charles Jacob Rosenbloom (b. 1889) (Lugt Supplement 633b) to the Carnegie Art Museum, Pittsburgh.

9: Whistler to Miss Ohl, [12 July 1900], GUW #04338.
