Provenance:Joshua Hutchinson Hutchinson (ca 1829 - d. 1891), London; sold at Sotheby's, London, 3 March 1892 (lot 320), bought by Frederick Keppel & Co., £1.6.0; sold to Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919), Detroit, MI, September 1892 (Keppel receipt; called 'Little Chelsea'); bequeathed to the Freer Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, 1919.

Print note:A lovely delicate impression with subtle wiping. There is faint drypoint shading on the butterfly signature which does not appear to be present in the Kennedy illustration
