| Print note: | There are scratches and marks on the plate, particularly on bottom half; the spots of 'foul biting' on the span and piers of the bridge vary in size, are widely dispersed and are circular and oval in shape, probably indicating Whistler's deliberate use of acid spatter to created the tonal effect (I.e. this does not appear to be a case of a 'happy accident.') |
