Note on foul biting:Although there has been no acid action, there is a fine pitted effect in the lower left foreground, left side and sky that looks like granular tone.  
Print note:There are rich velvety effects from the drypoint burr in the figures and to a lesser extent in the foreground boats. However, the lines of the background boats are broken and worn.
