Provenance:Probably acquired from Whistler by Francis Seymour Haden (1818-1910), London; listed by E. G. Kennedy as in the Haden Collection , 1910, bought from Hermann Wunderlich & Co., New York, through T. W. Dewing, by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919), Detroit, MI, November 1898; bequeathed to the Freer Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, 1919.
