Print note: | a good impression with some burr or retroussage; soft, rather unusual effect on the ground, like wheel ruts; the faces of woman and child are very sweet; the cloaked figure in the distance is a mysterious, hunched shape; there are slight burnishing marks up the pillars to left and right; the only drypoint used appears to be a few lines on wall at lower right, thus the ink effect is a result of retroussage or over inking, not drypoint burr |
