William Loring Andrews was a collector.
Life:
Andrews was a bibliophile and collector. There is a catalogue of his collection of early books in the library of Yale Univesity. He was a particular authority on bindings, on which subject he wrote several books. He was also an authority on the Bradford map of New York. He was the author of An Essay on the Portraiture of the American Revolutionary War (1896), Paul Revere and his Engraving (1901) and Of the Extra Illustration of Books (1900). He bought a number of JW's works from Wunderlich and Co. in New York in 1889, including Note in Rose and Silver - Dordrecht m0970, r.: Gold and Brown: Dordrecht; v.: Dordrecht m0968 and Sun and silver - La Petite Crémerie, Paris m1015. His address at this time was listed as 16 East 38 Street, New York (#07175).
