K.408 (after the second state recorded by Kennedy)
The Whistler Estate, presented by Rosalind Birnie Philip, 1935
Hunterian Art Gallery, GLAHA 46643
This shows a more elaborately worked combination of etching and drypoint. At this stage some of the heaviest shading was beginning to wear, creating a softer and more atmospheric effect. The Hunterian Art Gallery is fortunate to possess four of the twenty known impressions of this etching. All are different states, including two not previously recorded.
