TECHNIQUE
Bohemians is mainly etching with light drypoint shading. There is the mark of a vise, used to hold the plate, across the upper right corner.
PRINTING
There was a limited print-run. Three impressions were printed in black ink on ivory laid paper (, ), possibly with a crowned 'GB' watermark (), followed by two in dark brown ink on cream laid paper (, ). All were trimmed to the platemark and signed on a tab with a butterfly and 'imp.' to show that Whistler had printed them.
Whistler worked very lightly in pen on one impression (), but did not carry out these alterations on the copper plate.
